Abby enjoys working with individuals and families by creating a warm and collaborative environment that values each person’s unique story, strengths, and personality. She feels privileged to come alongside individuals as they work through the effects of past trauma, difficult relationships, grief, self-esteem issues, anxiety, and depression. She incorporates different principles and interventions to best fit the needs of each client. However, she primarily utilizes a person-centered approach with elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy, and play-based interventions. Abby has also been trained in EMDR and TF-CBT to help individuals process and heal from trauma. Abby has therapeutic experience in a variety of environments including in-home services, school-based therapy, and outpatient settings. Abby received a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA.
