Tanisha is a Nashville native who has been working with children, teens, and families within community mental health and therapeutic foster care settings since 2010. She enjoys working with clients who are struggling or feel stuck with substance use, school concerns, adoption adjustment, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ issues, and relational trauma. Tanisha primarily uses motivational interviewing and psychodynamic interventions in counseling with elements of play and art therapy woven in. She believes that healing and change happen by creating a safe environment, being honest and direct, and creating a treatment plan that is specific to the needs of each individual client she works with. She received her BSSW and MSSW from The University of Tennessee and is trained in TF-CBT, EMDR, DBT and ARC and attachment-based therapy.
