Marcy grew up in a pastor’s home and has always felt the call to ministry, which for her means serving as a counselor. She has over 25 years of experience working with children, youth, and their families. She began her career in mental health first as a counselor/teacher for Hiwassee Mental Health Center’s therapeutic preschool for children with special needs and behavioral problems. For several years she worked at Smoky Mountain Children’s Home's residential group home and also worked for Mercy Community Healthcare as a clinical therapist, where she established and directed Mercy's school-based counseling program. Marcy received her BA in Psychology from Lee University, MA in Christian Education from Church of God Theological Seminary, MA in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton Graduate School and her Ed.D. in Learning and Leadership from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She has experience working as a behavioral specialist for children on the autism spectrum and using the ADOS-2 as an assessment for children and adults.
